S.N.O.O.P.S. - Grades 4 - 5

Theme 1 — Finding Patterns as Evidence
Uncover evidence by taking fingerprints, using chromatography, and conducting an archeological dig to help solve mysteries from the ruins of ancient Anasazi pueblos in the Arizona desert.

Theme 2 — Doing Experiments to Describe and Compare Materials
Set up and conduct experiments to describe a mysterious substance, compare bubble solutions, explain chemical reactions, and solve a problem in a wetland.

Theme 3 — Building Models to Invent and Explain Ideas
Explain things you cannot see directly by building models to explain mysterious events in an old theater. Then extend inquiries to better understand the earth, moon and stars.

Theme 4 — Tracking Living Action to Relate Form and Function
Become involved in the lives and environment of Peregrine falcons that have taken up residence in a city. Explore animal forms and behaviors through investigations with crayfish.
