The Literature Connection

In every GALAXY teacher guide, we have provided an extensive list of cross-curricular connections you can use with your students to enhance and reinforce a particular theme. From math to physical education to language arts, there are a number of ways you can carry one GALAXY theme into many areas of your teaching.

Language Arts is a particular favorite for the GALAXY curriculum. The GALAXY literature suggestions were selected on the basis of relevant themes, varied and authentic cultural perspectives, aesthetic language, artistic excellence, and compelling content. But, don't let the literature exploration stop with our suggested readings. There are many more children's books that can be incorporated into the GALAXY curriculum. Here a just a few:
